Babassu plant oil

In South American countries like Brazil, Babassu's plant’s oil is commonly used in cooking and as a medicine.

Locals use it to heal minor wounds, such as cuts and scratches.

The great part of it is that Babassu oil is also turned into biofuel that can be used as an alternative to diesel fuel.

Why your hair will love Babassu Oil:

    • Babassu oil boasts a high moisture-retaining capacity, meaning it doesn't evaporate or break down easily. It helps keep moisture from escaping once it's on the skin, scalp, and hair shaft. Keeps strands and scalp moisturised for longer periods of time, and makes it less prone to breakage.

    • Babassu oil and other parts of the plant are used for various medicinal purposes in South America, such as to treat skin conditions, wounds, inflammation, amongst others.

    • The oil is rich in antioxidants, which are compounds that can help reduce cellular damage caused by harmful free radicals.

    • Antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties.

    • Babassu oil is a plant-based oil rich in saturated fats, making it solid at room temperature.

    • Babassu oil causes a refreshing, cooling sensation when it’s applied to the skin, as it melts at room temperature.

    • Lastly, it can add volume to dry, flat hair without weighing it down.
